New on DVD and Blu-Ray

I shall not dignify this week’s big new release by naming it. Even without it, new releases are pretty weak, with the real good stuff all being catalog (or close to it, like the five-hour 2015 Japanese film Happy Hour finally coming out on Blu-Ray). There’s Kino digging up the forgotten Sidney Lumet film The Group, the Warner Archive Collection finally giving The Thing from Another World the Blu-Ray it deserves, Criterion upgrading its Berlin Alexanderplatz box set, Shout Factory continuing to mildly upgrade MGM titles with a 4K restoration of Four Weddings and a Funeral, and Arrow finally bringing us a decent-looking stateside Blu-Ray of Audition.
