I wonder if anybody will think she did a better turn by nailing Margaret White to the ground. Still, I was always in love with the blistering ethereal performance more than the broken woman performance.

I also thought the original ending was an excessive ending by a young writer who wanted to go over the top. In the book, it made me laugh as Carrie floats around all the locations and blows things up. The intimacy of the prom is fitting for the story of intimate humiliation.
