Special attention must be paid to Dolph Lundgren, who manages to invent the Commie-Nazi a solid decade or so before the Simpsons did it (he is a Russian agent but displayed as an Ubermensch and damn does he have the body to pull it off) and plays it utterly straight and merciless. Rocky is at heart a loveable lug and placing him against a slab of terror like Ivan really brings that home after various successes, it is a great example of the classic American psychosis of feeling both inferior and superior at the same time.
