- Even for Roger Langridge, that cover is weird. And, uh, politically prescient.

- Dat Street Fighter cover. How is that not a meme.

- Early Amanda Conner! That Rampage Baby is adorable and toyetic.

- The Namor Cover: I believe this is how noninvasive surgical procedures that fall into the Atlantean insurance gap are performed.

- Unheralded Klassic Korner: The Maximortal is the greatest revisionist Not-Superman comic story ever made. Better than Moore's Supreme, Waid's Irredeemable, even better than any Elseworld. It's a damn shame it's so unknown, it's Veitch's pinnacle of a fascinating career.

- Nine-teen hunnert and ninety-three, and already Marshall Law was tired. Though I fully expect a film script to surface any day now.

- Julie Doucet put actual clams on a cover? (On a book named after Quebecois slang for vagina.) Amazing.

- Charlie Adlard, there's Kirbyhats, and then there's Team Fortress 2. You chose poorly.

- Always bet on Gran'ma Ben.

- Damn. As simple as it is, I love that Moebius cover. He was so amazing at composition, you could almost tell a Moebius from ten feet away (and totally distinct even from his Gir comics like Blueberry). I've always wondered if his legendary Archer character was taken from this guy:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Houyi

- I love that a cover emblazoned "SNITCH" does, in fact, have a bunch of stitches on it.

- Even Brian Bolland managed to outdo Brian Bolland with that Animal Man cover. Remember that Chris Van Allsburg children's book that was just a series of illustrations from stories that didn't exist? An Animal Man cover coffee table book could write a million different stories.

- I lent Understanding Comics to my Art History 101 teacher, back at the tail end of the nineties. She really liked it, and we had some neat discussions on representational vs. abstract art. Made me feel like an adult!

Covers I remember (very few of them actually. Im guessing its because i had just started school back up).

-The Maxx

-Aliens/Predator and Aliens:Labrynth. I hadnt seen any of the movies yet, but it worked out since the dark horse comics were better than any movie in the franchises after this point.

Maybe this is why I saw Spawn and thought, "Spawn is the most '90s thing ever." I mean, it's really not in a lot of ways; in some ways Deadpool is the most 90s thing ever. But sheesh, it's still pretty 90s.
