New on DVD and Blu-Ray

A jam-packed week, much of it courtesy of cult label Vinegar Syndrome and its many offshoot labels, including features-packed reissues of Faults and Hearts Beat Loud, the first physical release of Joel Potrykus’s Ape, and 4Ks of Cloak & Dagger and The Incredible Melting Man. But very closest to my heart is Fun City Editions’ new, restored Blu-Ray of Jonathan Demme’s Married to the Mob, on some days my very favorite of anything Demme made.

There’s so much more. Just to name a few, we get the fourth of Criterion’s essential Martin Scorsese’s World Cinema Project box sets, as well as one of Criterion’s increasingly many cash cows to fund things like the World Cinema Project box sets, a 4K of Oscar-nominee Sound of Metal. Severin, meanwhile, has a box set of the films of the man who brought you The Incredibly Strange Creatures Who Stopped Living and Became Mixed-Up Zombies, Ray Dennis Steckler. And best of all, Kino finally gives the few and proud Hudson Hawk fans a Blu-Ray worthy of this special and completely ludicrous movie.
