New on DVD and Blu-Ray

No big title this week to command attention but a lot of areas of interest, particularly Criterion’s release of the 70s work of Black Girl director Ousmane Sembène. There’s also Daisy Miller, the beginning of Peter Bogdanovich’s “flop era”, and Coup de Chance, the latest film in what would be generous to call Woody Allen’s “flop era”. You can either buy Woody Allen’s first French-language film or a documentary from the makers of Leviathan full of footage of French autopsies, and I’m sure both will leave you with the same feeling at the end.
