The Next Star Wars Movie Has A Title!

Rian Johnson’s Star Wars movie (Star Wars: Episode 8, don’t you know) has been waltzing around in an extremely secretive manner right now, with no plot details coming out beyond what could be gleaned from the occasional rumor or set photo. Well, at least we have a title today to tide us Star Wars geeks over until the film comes out in December! The film will be titled….Star Wars: The Last Jedi! A reference to a line of dialogue Obi-Wan had in The Empire Strikes Back wherein he referred to Luke as “…our last hope”, I presume?

The title isn’t very revealing in terms of what kind of actual plot Rey, Finn, Poe and BB-8 will be grappling with this holiday season, but it’s cool to finally get an official title for the project, especially since Rian Johnson apparently has had the title in mind ever since he started writing the movie. For those expecting more information about this movie to come out now that we have a title, don’t hold your breath. I doubt we’ll be seeing anything else from this highly anticipated movie until a teaser trailer almost certainly debuts at Star Wars Celebration in Orlando, Florida in April. Star Wars: The Last Jedi, which will feature new characters played by Benicio Del Toro(!!!!!) and Laura Dern will hit theaters on December 15, 2017.
