In Grecian mythology, the three fates spun your life out of thread. Threads also connect us to each other, weaving us all into a grand interconnected tapestry of life. 

Academy Award-winning animator Torill Kove (The Danish Poet) tells a simple tale of a woman and where her life thread takes her. The story is sweet and idyllic, presenting motherhood with a universality but leaving room for other life threads on the edges. Kove pointedly animates this as one life thread, and there are dozens of others grasping for their own thread which may have different consequences for them.

This seems fitting for the new year as the time when we assess where we’re going and where we’ve been.
