2015 Toronto International Film Festival Announces Line-Up

How is it this time of year already? Feels like just yesterday I was celebrating the new year of 2015 and now, here we are, with the line-up of this years Toronto International Film Festival announced. There will likely be further movies announced to have a presence at the festival in the future, but for now, these are the high-profile releases that will be at the prestigious festival.

One interesting selection for the TIFF is the opening festival feature, Demolition. The festival runs from September 10-20, seven whole months prior to the movies planned release date of April 8, 2016. Does this mean Fox Searchlight will be moving the film back into 2015? Who knows; the studio and its parent company, 20th Century Fox, have plenty of dramas (namely The Martian, Joy, and the Revenant) to advertise in the final quarter of the year, though placing it in this festival does make me ponder if maybe they’re preparing to move Jake Gyllenhaals next movie into this fall/winter.

Michael Moores next movie (which I didn’t know existed until this morning), Where To Invade Next, will premiere at this festival, while The Martian, The Dressmaker and The Program will also debut at TIFF. Also interesting to see Netflixs Beasts of No Nation here, as it shows these guys are serious about giving the film a film festival presence despite its more unconventional release pattern. Check out what other much-anticipated films will be appearing at the festival below!
