I would also like to express my fondness for these particular Criterion April titles

It’s that time of the year when Criterion actually gets their title announcements in on-time! Although, of course, they had to do it for probably the least exciting slate of the new year thus far. Still, it’s got some goodies, including Criterion saving yet another Whit Stillman film from home-video Hell, the release of one of last year’s best films (with last year’s best ending), the release of a Howard Hawks masterpiece, and a set featuring some quality political documentaries.
