New on DVD and Blu-Ray

This is a bad week for releases of any kind, with new releases offering two-thirds of this week’s most enticing titles (which is to say, two out of three of those titles), the timely skinhead courtroom-drama and Diane Kruger vehicle In the Fade and the Oscar-nominated Lebanese drama The Insult. And then you’re left to contend with the sorry likes of 12 Strong (Michael Shannon, buddy, you don’t need to take every script that’s put in front of you) and Peter Rabbit. Catalog titles are even worse, with first place easily taken by Kino’s release of King Hu’s Legend of the Mountain and a distant second place going to their release of the semi-forgotten Ron Shelton movie Blaze, and then everything else tied for last. That being said, if you’re one of those Jane Austen’s Mafia! superfans, maybe you’ll be more forgiving of this week.
