New on DVD and Blu-Ray

We’re neck-deep in the spooky season, which explains why, this week, we’re getting a new 4K restoration of the legendary Karen Black-starring horror anthology Trilogy of Terror, a new special edition for Don Siegel’s Invasion of the Body Snatchers, and any Blu-Ray at all of It’s Pat: The Movie, the idea of which is scarier to fathom than any horror movie ever made. But that’s about as low as low-hanging fruit can get, so I’ll instead focus my attention on the good stuff this week has to offer. Namely, there’s Arrow’s 4K restoration of Terry Gilliam’s 12 Monkeys, one of the few Gilliams most everyone can agree is pretty great. There’s also Criterion’s release of Hal Ashby’s Shampoo, although it’s sadly light on supplements (allegedly due to Warren Beatty not allowing any potential participants to contribute, which definitely sounds like something Beatty would do).
