New on DVD and Blu-Ray

You must admit, you’ve brought this week on yourself. This week, Michael Haneke’s original German version of Funny Games comes to Criterion Blu-Ray to either terrify or aggravate a whole new audience. Next to it is Criterion’s tribute to the late Ricky Jay, an upgrade of David Mamet’s House of Games, an equally tricky movie, just in a different register. But the big get this week is Kino finally giving Hal Ashby’s debut (and an early Gordon Willia showcase) The Landlord a wide American home video release.
