New on DVD and Blu-Ray

The big story this week is Raging Bull coming back to Criterion for the first time since the Laserdisc days, in a sparkling and indifferently-packaged 4K edition. Their long-awaited upgrade of David Lean’s Summertime may not be a 4K, but at least its cover is better than something I could’ve whipped up in five minutes. Aside from those two and the 4K of Alan Parker’s Angel Heart, there’s not much this week besides Paramount continuing to clear its vault of its most irrelevant titles. Even this week’s entry in their faux-prestige Paramount Presents line is the forgotten Don Siegel-Burt Reynolds heist comedy Rough Cut.
